I Dear Parents,
What a wonderful week we had learning about the presidents! We learned many cool facts about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, two men who played such an important part in our country's history. We will try to be like them by being honest and kind.
This week we will get ready for Valentine's Day. We will learn about St. Valentine, read many wonderful valentine books, and learn a special song for Valentine's Day. We will be making valentines for patients in the dementia unit at a local nursing home. In our Valentine Centers, we will be playing fun games and doing activities to reinforce beginning sounds, rhyming, patterns and estimation.
We will continue with Theme 6 and we will be examining maps and making a map of our classroom, school, and neighborhood. Our word wall words will be this.and a review of my. We continue to knock our socks and shoes off with the words we are finding in our Message!
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD USES THE BATHROOM BEFORE HE/SHE COMES TO SCHOOL. We use the bathroom at Snack time, lunchtime and before nap time. If your child needs to use the bathroom frequently, please let us know.
Dads, please check the Special Events page by clicking on more . . . above.
As a Bucks County Blue Ribbon School, SKD will be collecting food and toiletry items this week for the New Britain Food Larder. The list of needed items can be found in Ms. Clark's newsletter from February 7 and on the school's website. Please be as generous as your means permit.
Valentine's day is quickly approaching. We are in need of clear empty juice containers with a rectangular bottom (64 ounce apple juice or Juicy juice containers are the best) to be used for our Valentine card holders. If you have already sent one in, thank you. Please send in extras if you have any.
We will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a party on Thursday, February 14. Thank you to the homeroom moms for organizing our celebration. If you would like to send in valentines and treats (wrapped candy, peanut-free) is best) for the class, we have 20 students. PLEASE DO NOT PUT NAMES ON THE FRONT OF THE VALENTINE ENVELOPES.
If your child has an iPad, please check out Hopster Coding Safari for Kids on the App store. It is an awesome app to introduce your child to coding. We love playing it in our classroom.
We've been nominated again for the Best of Bucks in Buck's Happening Magazine's Happening List. Last year we were voted Best Preschool! We need your help to do it again! Please vote and tell your family and friends to vote too!
We are seeing a lot of food go to waste at lunchtime. If possible, we will send home any leftovers.
Please send in healthy snacks. Candy makes us crazy!
Please send in two drinks, one for snack, and one for lunch.
For the rest of the school year, your child may wear his/her Blue Ribbon T-shirt with the gym uniform every Friday (except for First Friday Masses)
Please make every effort to be on time. We start our day at 8:30. If your child is late, you will need to go to the school office to get a late slip after 8:45.
Please check and empty folders every night. Please put all correspondence in the folder. We do not check backpacks.
Please dress your child for the weather. On Mondays and Tuesdays, we go over to the big school for Gym and Media Center, rain or shine. We will be going out for recess every day unless it is raining.
PLEASE LABEL ALL ITEMS YOUR CHILD BRINGS INTO SCHOOL, ESPECIALLY CLOTHING.
Thank you for your cooperation in these matters.
